Grey Hoodie
There’s a grey hoodie that returns like a safe place, a habit, a sound. Grey Hoodie is the new album by Pentola, producer/DJ born in Apulia and based in Milan, who creates his own space here: soft, layered, organic. An album that sounds like a dimly lit room with an open window onto the city — inside, broken rhythms of club culture meet subtle jazz movements and warm keys slipping through electronic textures. House, broken beat, UK garage, jungle — but with an analog soul that makes it all feel alive.
The album opens with "Che fai???", the first single featuring Wasabi: a question that loops like a tic, a voice sliding over a nervous UK garage beat, with liquid synths and jazz accents chasing each other like neon lights. It’s the first rhythmic shift in an album that thrives on motion, loops, and unexpected stumbles.
From there, the journey blends MPCs and drum machines with analog instruments: “Loop Therapy” and “Space Cyclist” reflect this dual nature — grooves front and center, enriched by a fusion touch that brings warmth to every beat. On “Back to the Future”, jazz merges with garage house in one of the album’s freest moments, while “Trippin’” carries a distant voice that surfaces and fades, hidden inside a liquid, worn-out beat — like a late-night city stroll.
At the heart of Grey Hoodie moves a collective: Francesco Fisotti, Stefano De Santis, Sup Nasa, G Foxxx, Rocco Biazzi, You Nico, Mattia Galbiati, Hugo Iglesias, Stefano Nardon, Giuseppe Molinari — each adding a brushstroke, a detail, a pulse. There are two key vocal features: in addition to Wasabi, Alijaa brings a warm, magnetic tone on “Into Something Like I Dance”, a suspended, almost under-the-skin track that slows everything down and invites you to stay inside it.
Grey Hoodie isn’t just a club record, or a studio experiment — it’s a lived-in space, a moving refuge. An album to listen to like something familiar you put on: not to hide, but to feel at home.
